GIS – 21 Nov 2024: The High Commissioner of the United Kingdom (UK) to Mauritius, Ms Charlotte Pierre, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, this evening, at the Treasury Building in Port-Louis.
In a statement, Ms Pierre said that she conveyed her congratulations to the Prime Minister and discussed several issues related to the strong bilateral relationship between the UK and Mauritius.
The political agreement regarding the Chagos Archipelago was largely on the agenda, she pointed out, adding that discussions also pertained to trade and growth. She reiterated the UK’s intent to work in close partnership with the Government of Mauritius towards common goals to foster continued close ties and enhanced bilateral relations.
