The Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, highlighted the deep-rooted and longstanding bilateral relations between Mauritius and India following a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, today at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.
In a statement following the meeting, Admiral Swaminathan underscored the robust political and economic relations, as well as the deep cultural ties, that continue to underpin the enduring friendship between the two countries.
He also highlighted the strong maritime security cooperation between Mauritius and India, expressing confidence that his official visit would contribute to further deepening and broadening this partnership into new areas of cooperation.
The Chief of the Naval Staff further expressed hope that the development projects supported by the Government of India in Mauritius would continue to progress and yield further benefits.
He reaffirmed India’s commitment to exploring new avenues of cooperation with Mauritius, with a view to strengthening bilateral relations and advancing areas of mutual interest for the benefit of both countries.
