GIS – 08 July 2025: The Chief Executive Officer of the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd, Mr Takeshi Hashimoto, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, this afternoon, at the New Treasury Building in Port-Louis. He was accompanied by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Masahiro Kan.
In a statement, Mr Takeshi Hashimoto pointed out that the meeting with the Prime Minister was fruitful. He underlined that Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam expressed appreciation for the various cooperation that Mauritius and Japan are jointly undertaking.
The CEO of the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd highlighted that his company endeavours to develop businesses in Mauritius as well as in African countries for which, Mauritius can act as a gateway to approach East African countries.
Furthermore, he deemed the determination of the Prime Minister to enhance Mauritius’ relations with Japan as encouraging for his company in their strategy to carry out business in Mauritius.
