GIS- 22 April 2025: The Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Home Affairs and External Communications, Minister of Finance, and Minister for Rodrigues and Outer Islands, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, signed this afternoon a condolence book placed at the Diocese of Port-Louis, to pay tribute to the late His Holiness Pope Francis, who passed away yesterday.
The Prime Minister was welcomed by Father Jean Michaël Durhône, the Bishop of the Diocese of Port-Louis.
In a statement Prime Minister Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam paid homage to late Pope Francis, recalling that His Holiness presided the Easter Sunday Mass this 20 April.
The Prime Minister spoke of the unpredictability of life, stating that Pope Francis remains in his prayers.
