GIS – 26 November 2024: The Ambassador of the United States (US) of America to Mauritius, Mr Henry Victor Jardine, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, this afternoon, at the New Treasury Building in Port-Louis.
In a statement, Ambassador Jardine said that discussions with the Prime Minister focused on advancing opportunities for the US to support the Mauritian Government’s vision and priorities. Highlighting the close ties between the two nations, he emphasised collaboration in security cooperation, economic and trade relations, civil society engagement, and education, including the promotion of educational opportunities.
Moreover, Mr Jardine stated that strengthening bilateral ties, through maritime domain awareness and good governance, was also at the forefront of their discussions. He reassured that both parties were committed to developing these areas while continuing to enhance economic and commercial relationships. The Ambassador also expressed optimism about building on existing partnerships to advance mutual goals in these areas, reinforcing the enduring bond between Mauritius and the US.
